The Australian Primary Care Prevocational Program (APCPP) delivers primary care rotations for junior and prevocational doctors providing experience and exposure to encourage a career in general practice.
From the 1 January 2026, the Australian Primary Care Prevocational Program will incorporate the former John Flynn Prevocational Doctor Program (JFPDP) and expand into metropolitan primary care settings.
The APCPP – Rural continues to deliver funding for increased rural primary care rotations to eligible hospital-based prevocational junior in Modified Monash Model 2019 (MM) 2-7 locations.
The APCPP – Metro targets eligible hospital-based prevocational junior doctors in MM 1 to deliver metropolitan primary care rotations.
