The Australian Primary Care Prevocational Program (APCPP) delivers primary care rotations for junior and prevocational doctors providing experience and exposure to encourage a career in general practice.
From the 1 January 2026, the Australian Primary Care Prevocational Program incorporated the former John Flynn Prevocational Doctor Program (JFPDP) and was expanded to deliver training rotations into metropolitan primary care settings.
The APCPP – Rural continues to deliver funding for increased rural primary care rotations to eligible hospital-based prevocational doctors in Modified Monash Model 2019 (MM) 2-7 locations.
The APCPP – Metro targets eligible hospital-based prevocational doctors in MM 1 locations to deliver metropolitan primary care rotations.
