The National Health Reform Agreement

In August 2011, the then Council of Australian Governments (COAG) agreed to the National Health Reform Agreement (NHRA) [PDF 1.39MB | DOCX 195KB]. NHRA sets out the shared intention of the Commonwealth and state and territory governments to work in partnership to:

  • improve health outcomes for all Australians
  • ensure the sustainability of the Australian health system.

The NHRA is amended from time to time.
